Hi Amira is designed to help individuals and organisations translate, read and understand text and documents. This page explains, in clear language, how submitted content, accounts, payments and third-party services are handled.
This page is a practical summary. Please also read our Terms & Privacy page for the full legal information.
1) Information you provide
Depending on the feature you use, Hi Amira may process:
text that you type or paste;
PDF documents that you upload;
questions and instructions submitted to AI tools;
account and subscription information;
usage balances and feature activity;
messages sent through our support or contact channels.
Please avoid submitting highly sensitive, confidential or legally restricted information unless you have the authority to do so and are satisfied that the service is appropriate for that content.
2) How text and documents are processed
Submitted content is processed only as reasonably necessary to provide the feature you requested, such as:
translating text;
summarising, explaining or simplifying content;
answering questions about a document;
generating Standard or Premium voice playback;
presenting generated answers through Amira Avatar.
Hi Amira may send the relevant text or extracted document content to trusted service providers that support artificial intelligence, language processing, voice generation, hosting and database services.
Hi Amira does not sell submitted documents or personal data.
3) Document AI limits
Document AI currently supports PDF files subject to the following limits:
maximum file size: 5MB;
first 30 pages processed;
up to 30,000 extracted characters per action.
Only the content required for the selected Document AI action is processed.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to upload and process each document.
4) Artificial intelligence
Hi Amira uses third-party artificial-intelligence and language-processing services to generate translations, summaries, explanations, simplified text and answers.
AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions or misunderstandings. Important information should always be reviewed by the user.
Hi Amira should not be treated as a substitute for qualified legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
5) Voice and Amira Avatar
Hi Amira provides Standard and Premium voice playback.
The provider used may depend on the selected feature, language and voice option. Text required for playback may be processed by a trusted text-to-speech or voice provider.
Amira Avatar presents and reads generated text. It does not independently review or verify the accuracy of the information being spoken.
6) Accounts and access controls
Features requiring an account use authenticated user sessions and plan-based access controls.
Hi Amira checks the user’s active plan and available allowances before providing restricted features such as Smart Reader AI, Document AI, Premium voice playback and Amira Avatar.
Usage balances are recorded so that the service can display remaining minutes or actions and apply the limits included with each plan.
Users are responsible for:
protecting their account credentials;
using a strong password;
not sharing access with unauthorised users;
notifying Hi Amira if they believe their account has been compromised.
7) Payments
Subscription and add-on payments are processed through Stripe.
Hi Amira does not receive or store complete payment-card details. Stripe processes payment information according to its own security and privacy procedures.
Hi Amira may retain limited payment-related information, such as:
subscription status;
plan name;
payment or customer reference;
renewal status;
transaction metadata.
8) Service providers
Hi Amira relies on trusted third-party providers for services including:
website hosting and infrastructure;
database and account authentication;
artificial-intelligence processing;
text-to-speech and voice generation;
subscription payments;
analytics, monitoring and technical support.
The provider used may vary depending on the feature, language or service availability.
Only information reasonably necessary to provide or operate the relevant service is shared.
9) Analytics and cookies
Hi Amira may use essential cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, manage sessions and provide account features.
Optional analytics or measurement technologies are used only where permitted and, where required, after the user has provided consent.
Analytics information may include general device, browser, page-view and usage information. It is used to understand performance, identify technical problems and improve the service.
10) Retention and deletion
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
provide the requested service;
operate and secure accounts;
maintain subscriptions and usage records;
respond to support enquiries;
prevent misuse or fraud;
meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the feature used.
Where appropriate, information may be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required.
Users may request deletion of eligible personal information by contacting:
Some records may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate security, payment or dispute-management purposes.
11) Organisational and pilot use
Organisations considering a pilot should assess whether Hi Amira is appropriate for their intended documents, users and internal data-handling requirements.
During an initial pilot, organisations should avoid uploading live confidential, highly sensitive or regulated information unless its use has been reviewed and separately agreed.
Additional security, procurement or data-processing questions can be discussed before a pilot begins.
12) Your responsibilities
You must not use Hi Amira to upload, process or distribute content that:
you do not have permission to use;
infringes another person’s rights;
contains unlawful or harmful material;
exposes confidential or personal information without proper authority;
is submitted in breach of an employer’s or organisation’s policies.
You remain responsible for reviewing AI-generated outputs and deciding whether they are suitable for your intended use.
